Oversized Terracotta Textile Layer
The room's central weakness was visual weightlessness: a small cool-toned rug floated in the middle of the floor, and hard rectangular edges dominated the seating area. The design intent was to ground the sectional with generous scale and introduce warmth through a controlled palette of rust, moss, cream, and olive. A large patterned rug now extends beneath the sofa's front legs, visually expanding the seating zone and softening the transition between light wood floors and upholstered furniture. A rounded oak coffee table replaces the previous square form, introducing organic movement at the room's center. Wall-to-wall textured curtains frame the balcony glazing as a single architectural moment, while concentrated color in cushions, artwork, and a sculptural floor lamp activates the neutral shell without overwhelming it. The result is a balanced, warm contemporary Living Room that respects the existing layout while feeling intentionally styled.

Implementation Note
When sizing the replacement rug, measure the full seating footprint including the sectional's front legs and the coffee table's perimeter; a common mistake is choosing a rug that stops short of the sofa, which recreates the original "floating island" effect. For the curtains, mount the rod 4-6 inches above the window frame and extend it 12-18 inches beyond the glazing edges on each side so the panels stack clear of the glass when open, preserving the balcony door's swing and maximum daylight.
